We move New Yorkers to Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, Florida and beyond, with the same crew loading in the city and unloading at the other end. Your things stay on our truck the whole way, never handed to another company or moved to a warehouse in between unless you ask us to store them.

Quick answer

How much do long-distance movers from NYC cost?

A long-distance move from New York usually costs between $2,500 and $9,000, depending on how much you’re moving and how far it’s going. We price these as one agreed amount, worked out from a video walkthrough, so the number on the quote is the number you pay. It includes the crew at both ends, the truck, fuel and tolls, wrapping and furniture reassembly. Packing and storage between dates can be added, and every extra is written on the quote.

Typical job · Example pricesA 1-bedroom from New York to Boston, Philadelphia or Washington, DC usually runs $2,500–$4,000. 2-bedrooms on the same routes $3,800–$6,000. Florida, the Midwest and longer routes are quoted after a video walkthrough.

Real reviews

Don’t take our word for it

Example reviews

Yonkers to Raleigh, with the same crew loading and unloading two days apart. They remembered which boxes were fragile without reading the labels and set up the kids’ beds first.

Ben F.Yonkers · Example review

We got a text at 7:40 saying the crew was ten minutes out, and they rang the bell at 7:52. Our 2-bedroom on the 4th floor was empty by noon, and they still rebuilt the bed frame at the new place before leaving.

Sofia R.Park Slope · Example review

They quoted 3 to 4 hours for my studio, it took 3½, and the bill was exactly 3½ hours at the rate they gave me. No stair fee, no fuel charge, no mystery materials line. I’ve moved four times in this city and that’s a first.

How long does a long-distance move take?

Moves to Boston, Philadelphia or Washington, DC are usually delivered the same day or the next. Longer routes take a few days, and we agree the delivery date in writing before you book.

Are you licensed for moves out of state?

Yes. We’re registered with the US Department of Transportation for interstate moves, and the numbers are listed on this site. Even a short move to Jersey City or Hoboken crosses a state line, so it counts as interstate.

Is a cheap quote a red flag?

Often, yes. A long-distance quote far below everyone else’s can grow on delivery day. Ours is an agreed price from a proper walkthrough, and it only changes if you add items.

Can you store items between dates?

Yes. If your new place isn’t ready, we keep your things in our Brooklyn warehouse and deliver when you are, with the storage priced on your quote.

Do you cover tolls?

Tolls, fuel and the crew’s travel time are already in the agreed price. You won’t see them added afterwards.

What does your insurance cover on a long move?

Each truck carries $100,000 in cargo cover and we hold $2 million in general liability. We explain the protection options for your belongings in writing before you book.

Is it cheaper to move midweek, or in winter?

Usually, yes. Midweek dates and the months from November to March are quieter, so we can often agree a lower price than for a summer weekend.
